Christa Salazar is happy to be back working in her hometown of San José as Breakthrough Silicon Valley’s operations manager. Christa has spent her career working in urban education, previously as an operations associate at Chalkbeat and a program manager at TNTP.

She's also worked directly with young learners, spending a year as an America Reads tutor in a kindergarten classroom on the Lower East Side, teaching Computers for Youth’s Family Learning Workshops to middle schoolers in south and east Los Angeles, and tutoring students at 826LA.

Christa earned an M.P.A. from the University of Southern California’s Price School of Public Policy and a B.A. in Journalism and Politics from New York University.
